REAL PROBLEM OF NIGERIA...REAL PROBLEM OF AFRICA

The white people brought us a lot of things in the past and of recent. I will mention few things that they brought in the past and in the present. Most Nigerians don't know the meaning of these things and they have misconception of them, so they consequently use them for the wrong purpose(s)

In the past the white people brought us money, religion (christianity & Islam) & education. MONEY: We hear billions of naira everyday but up till today, Nigeria is still referred to as a poor country. RELIGION: Nigeria is one of the most religious in the world. On wikipedia, Nigeria is represented by 50% Christian and 50% muslims, even in Israel where christianity began, they don't have that kind of percentage, this shows how religious we are. But religion has done more evil than good to us. Right in the church and mosque we have the most terrible evils. Even some intelligent pastors and muslim clerics still think that religion is vague but they keep deceiving their followers probably to ensure the continuity of their daily bread. Though I'm not preaching against religion or its practice but the importance of religion had been overrated over the years.
So many wrong things can be corrected even without the intervention or introduction of religion. Religion will never make you automatically do things the right way or have good manners. EDUCATION: we have schools everywhere but do we see its impact on any sector in Nigeria. Most literates Nigerians just behave like illiterates. The problem is we don't really know the meaning of this things; money, religion & education. How many Nigerians know and understand that MONEY is a means to an end and not an end in itself as most Nigerians understood it. How many Nigerians know that RELIGION is means to converse with one's creator?
How many Nigerians know that EDUCATION begins from childhood and span through lifetime that education is not limited to the one gotten in some buildings somewhere called schools. (You get education in school and out of school). How many Nigerians know that the primary objective of education is to get knowledge and getting wealth from education may be secondary. No wonder why our student graduates and still feel unfulfilled because they didn't get the money they anticipated for or the anticipated money wasn't enough eventually, so they begin to find fulfilment in something else elsewhere.
In the present they brought internet, social media (facebook, twitter, e.t.c) How many people know that primary aim of facebook is for connecting family and friends and twitter is for sharing ideas and internet is meant for diverse use starting from retrieving and sending information. But all that my people do with internet is fraud and they use social media (facebook, twitter e.t.c) as means. Until we know the real meaning of these inventions and innovations and equally know what they are used for and consequently use them the right way, we will never be a part of people that invent or innovate.
How many Nigerians or Africans have you heard as innovators or inventors in the present or in the past?.
I have stretched my mind to know what really our problem is in Nigeria in particular and in Africa at large.
Our problem is not really corruption as it is widely pronounced, OUR PROBLEM IS SIMPLY LACK OF ADEQUATE KNOWLEDGE IF NOT SO WE WOULDN'T HAVE DESCENDED SO LOW TO GO INTO CORRUPTION IN THE FIRST PLACE.
Do we even know that corruption starts from disobeying just rules and not only embezzling public/government funds.
It is our collective responsibility to move Africa and Nigeria forward.

Proudly African...Proudly Nigerian
